At Riverbend Montessori, our history is woven with rich traditions and deep community roots. This month, our families brought that spirit to life by coordinating a vibrant Lunar New Year celebration.
We were honored to host over 23 volunteers—including parents, aunts, and grandparents—who shared their heritage with our students through hands-on learning:
-
- Culinary Arts: Every child tried their hand at tradition, rolling and filling their own dumplings before enjoying their “delicious masterpieces.”
-
- Calligraphy: Family members guided students through the graceful art of traditional brushwork.
-
- Storytelling: Each classroom hosted a cultural presentation from a family member, making history feel personal and alive for every student.
The festivities reached a high note with a traditional Lion Dance, leaving us all inspired. A heartfelt thank you to our families for sharing your history and heart with us.
